(1) What is your essential question, and what are your answers? What is your best answer and why?
How can we close the food gap between different socioeconomic classes.
1) Addressing food waste
2) Public Policy
3) Cultural Competency
All three answers because food waste is a short term solution to immediate hunger. Cultural Competency is important so organizations can properly advocate what should be put in bills. And changing public policy is important for the long term solution.
(2) What process did you take to arrive at this answer?
I figured out each answer through examples and then I looked at the overarching theme of the examples. Then I tried to think of how that could be turned into an answer.
(3) What problems did you face? How did you resolve them?
I had a really bad mentor so I sought outside assistance from Professors and educators.
(4) What are the two most significant sources you used to answer your essential question and why?
" How a National Food Policy could save millions" by Michael Pollan
Weighing in: Obesity, Food Justice, and the Limits of Capitalism by Julie Guthman
